National Donate Life Month
April is National Donate Life Month, a time to honor the heroes who give the ultimate gift — life — through organ, eye, and tissue donation. It’s also a chance to educate and inspire others to say “Yes!” to donation.
Why It Matters
Every 8 minutes, someone is added to the national transplant waiting list. Over 100,000 people in the U.S. are currently waiting for a life-saving transplant. But there’s hope — one organ donor can save up to 8 lives, and enhance the lives of 75 more through tissue donation.
Fast Facts:
- Over 170 million people in the U.S. are registered organ donors.
- Every day, about 17 people die waiting for a transplant.
- 85% of patients on the waiting list need a kidney.
How You Can Get Involved
- Register as a donor at [RegisterMe.org](https://www.registerme.org/).
- Wear blue and green on National Donate Life Blue & Green Day (April 18th in 2025!) to spread awareness.
